Hi! My name's Skip, and I teach and train teachers at El Cultural in Trujillo, Peru. This is a 7,000 student binational center with over 120 teacher. I have taught English in Japan and Thailand, and I have travelled through many parts of India, Malaysia, Nepal, and Thailand. For relaxation, I have loved to climb on the rocks around Great Falls on the Potomac River. I also like to relax by reading a good non-fiction book or watching an old movie--or another old movie. To tell you the truth, I like many kinds of movies.
Here are some of my teaching experiences:
- Taught English at A to Z language school in Okaya-shi, Japan for 5 years.
- Taught at Nisseki Nursing College to nursing students in Kami-Suwa, Japan for 4 years.
- Also taught at Seiko-Epson Electronics factory in Japan.
- Substitute taught at University of Washington, Seattle, Washington.f
- Also, taught at a private language school in downtown Seattle.
- Interned at Maryland English Institute, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.
- Substitute taught as an ESL elementary school teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland for one year.
- Since 2001, I've mostly taught speaking, listening, and pronunciation courses, along with some reading and writing courses at Montgomery College
in Rockville, Maryland.
- I have an M.A. in TESOL from Anaheim University, which is an online college. I was in the first online Master of Arts in TESOL group of
students at Anaheim in the late 1990's.
In the Future:
- I dream about going to Mars in the future, but it's a one-way trip, and there aren't many students there!
- Here are two videos. The first, on the left is about Mars; the second, on the right is about the recent landing on comet 67p. This just happened!

- My next major goal is to publish research in my classes.
- Lastly, I am presently doing teacher training in the beautiful little city of Trujillo, which is in Peru.
